Ayurveda Resort Mandira
One of the World’s 35 Best Spas
Condé Nast Traveller Wellness & Spa Guide 2023
There was a hum of excitement at London’s prestigious The Lanesborough hotel on the evening of 31 January 2023: the Condé Nast Traveller Wellness & Spa Guide was about to be presented after a three-year hiatus caused by Covid. And we at marketing deluxe were right there, in the thick of it – thanks to our fabulous clients at the Ayurveda Resort Mandira! In less than three years (and this includes the long years when the whole world was under the cosh of the pandemic), the Mandira has established itself as one of the world’s best international wellness destinations. Congratulations to the Mandira and especially to Christina Mauracher, CEO and visionary healer.
The Condé Nast Traveller Wellness & Spa Guide has been setting the standard in the international spa industry for many, many years. The 2023 edition presented the 35 World’s Best Spas in five categories: Holistic Health, Destination Health, Change Your Life, Bring the Family and Medical Miracles. This year’s top newcomer in the Destination Health category was our very own Ayurveda Resort Mandira in Styria. Seeing this Austrian gem listed alongside legendary spa destinations that have been setting the global tone for decades really was as good as it gets!
‘It takes guts and vision to blend a serious Ayurvedic clinic with a resort, but Ayurveda Resort Mandira […] has cracked it.’
Condé Nast Traveller Wellness & Spa Guide 2023
From Tyrol to Styria and Across the Globe
You have to meet strict criteria to make it into the Condé Nast Traveller Wellness & Spa Guide’s list of the 35 best in the world. It means you’re part of an international elite. ‘We’re obviously delighted that Condé Nast Traveller liked our Holistic Ayurveda concept so much,’ says the Ayurveda Resort Mandira’s owner, Christina Mauracher, whose resort concept breaks new therapeutic, diagnostic and preventive ground. ‘We want to meet today’s challenges by integrating conventional and holistic methods with traditional Indian medicine. Our approach always aims to meet the needs of contemporary western society,’ she adds. Rather modestly, in our opinion.
Holistic Ayurveda – Holistic Regeneration & Prevention
Personal development has become a huge driver for people in the west. Reducing stress and achieving mental, physical and emotional balance are major issues for everyone who is aiming for a healthy lifestyle. ‘We’re always working on Ayurvedic methods, recipes and treatments, combining them with innovative complementary therapies as well as aspects of conventional medicine. The synergy of these approaches combined with tailor-made nutritional, exercise and mental health concepts provides a holistic approach to preventive and regenerative healthcare.’
Ahead of the Times with Holistic Tradition
Christina Mauracher’s innovative approach to holistic prevention and regeneration in health tourism began when she developed European Ayurveda. Her own growth and learning led to the Holistic Ayurveda concept we see at the Mandira today. The pioneer and visionary studied Ayurvedic medicine and philosophy for many years. She also practised it at her family’s first Ayurvedic resort in Tyrol, where she was able to study its effectiveness and applications. Having advanced the concept of European Ayurveda, Christina later developed the Mandira’s Holistic Ayurveda, bringing together complementary therapies, conventional medicine, the healing power of Styria’s thermal spa waters and a spiritual approach to holistic coaching. This is another milestone in the search for solutions to complex health problems – especially modern lifestyle diseases. We were able to help her by carefully examining her approach to healing and then transforming our understanding into a recognisable and cohesive brand.
